You know em, you love em....Ladies and Gentlemen......Artie Lange !

If you are ever in the mood to laugh your a$$ off, go get tickets to see Artie Lange perform.  Guy has enough stories to last a lifetime, and he is the poster child of what comedian's are reported to be.....people who have led miserable lives and get through it by being funny.  There is nothing like watching an overweight former heroin addict perform at the top of his game.
The show started late of course, but this is Los Angeles, so its expected.  The guy lost a bunch of weight, but still looks just as terrible as you want him to look.  Rundown T-shirt, jeans and sneakers.  The opening acts were great.  And since a Howard Stern guy comes with a Howard Stern audience, I got what I expected, a lot of drunks yelling out random foolishness and wishing that every comedian who went on before Artie would shut up and that they suck.
Then, When Artie took the stage, it was like Dice was in the house, and fans would keep yelling out different jokes for him to tell, characters on the Stern Show for him to mimic, and just yelling out bababooey or that he rocks.
It was interesting watching an LA audience watch a bunch of New York Comedians perform.  Im used to everyone out here sipping wine and hangin out at the Aroma Cafe discussing their "projects" and wondering which Jazz place to go to later.  It was a nice change of pace to hear people live on stage discussing pure filth and nonsense and I enjoyed every minute of it.
And, as always, its fun to people watch out here in LA.  You got the younger crowd dressed like their going into the local club, and the older crowd, where the men dress like their famous, and their older women.......dress like their going into the local club (hmmm).
Maybe one day I will be the one on stage telling jokes.  And hopefully not always the opening act who gets yelled at and told "you suck! bring on _______"
