Remember when people watched boxing?

So I was at a casino out in the middle of nowhere in California this past Saturday night, and I saw something on all the TV screens.  It was a boxing match.  It was one of those 8 foot Russian brothers, I think,  fighting some guy I've never seen or heard of before.  In between making my "donation" playing the slots, I kept looking over, and what did I see.....two guys dancing around, hitting each other once every few minutes, and holding on to each other for dear life as often as possible.  And that's when I remembered exactly why I don't watch boxing anymore and am now obsessed with Mixed Martial Arts.
Ok, so its not exactly a bunch of psychos from the movie Bloodsport flying around and breaking each other's necks for fun, but I find it entertaining nonetheless.  If you have read my previous blogs, then you know about my fascination with Kimbo Slice, and my wait for him to get either choked out by someone, or him knocking out his opponent like he is D-BO and they asked for their bike back.
Ever since Mike Tyson first got arrested for Rape back in the day, it seems like the entire sport of boxing has been in lockup or something.  At least Tyson went out there and destroyed his opponents, and had the look of guy who "literally" wanted to bite their ear off and do filthy things to reporters in their behinds when they question him the wrong way.  Those were the days.
Now, what do we got?  At least boxing still has Michael Buffer (you know, the announcer who marries hot young chicks).  But other then that, all thats left are aging play by play guys, the same old "up and comers" who fight about 20 useless fights against guys Rocky fought in the local bars in Philly, and a lot of fancy intros with nice rap music to watch some boxer strut down to the ring with his posse, and soon after beat some bum in 30 seconds.  Either that, or we all watch one underdog beat up the favorite for 12 rounds, only to have the decision go to the favorite.
God bless MMA.....Blood, knockouts, and choking a guy until he taps out or passes out......God bless the sport.....God bless America.
