Wrestler, personality Captain Lou Albano dies at 76...God I miss the WWF...

really mis Capt Lou Albano ...

I remember the good old days, growing up, watching wrestling.  Before guys like John Cena, and an older 'Macho Man' Randy Savage before him, started making sh*t rap music.  Before Hulk Hogan was a reality TV star.  And before Vince McMahon pulled a Barry Bonds and put on about 50 pounds of solid muscle....(hmmmm, wonder how they got so big).
I remember when they basically had one really big event yearly.  Wrestlemania..  Now of course, like many little kids, I actually thought this crap was real.  But at least I found it entertaining.  I can't force myself to watch it these days.  Its a new era in this form of entertainment.  Its becoming the 'Saturday Night Live" of the industry, in that every wrestler out there is trying to make a quick name for themselves so they can immediately jump ship and move on to MMA fighting, movies, music, and whatever else they can think of to make more money.
Now I can't take that away from these guys.  Make every penny you can, because its a dangerous sport.....(yes, i consider it a sport...if you can break your damn neck and back at any moment in the ring to entertain dopes like you and me, it deserves to be called a sport).  But I do miss what it used to be.
Maybe one day I will have kids, and they will watch wrestling, and make me start following it again.  I just hope that it doesn't get to a point where they start coming out in the ring wearing race car driver uniforms with sponsors logos all over their robes or something.  And I better not see one of my kids favorite wrestlers staring in his own sitcom and promoting his new twitter page.
I guess for now, i will just continue to make efforts to go club hopping once in a while, and to keep the memory alive, my friends and I will introduce ourselves to the ladies as: Ravishing Rick Rude, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Bret the hitman Hart and Ric Flair....... Captain Lou.............RIP my friend.............
