I learned something new today about myself.
I love playing BINGO while drunk..............There.............I said it.............. Am I the only one who does?
So I was invited out to a bar by my boy Abomb last night to watch the Yankee game. Typical Los Angeles dive bar hidden inside of a shopping plaza, filled with creepy old guys and women I wouldn't touch with someone else's body parts. The baseball game didn't go so well for my friend and fellow New Yorker, but it was Okay, because the real game was about to begin.
Out comes some random guy handing out BINGO cards and telling us its DRINKO BINGO NIght. Now, its not exactly like playing the game in West Hollywood with the drag queen as the host, but this tiny little guy will do for now. Especially since I was beginning to drink. And what makes things better, is that the winner of each game gets a free shot............. For a man who is part Irish, this is my true heaven.
And sure enough, first game, who wins? Yours truly. The only thing better then drinking with friends, is drinking with friends for free. It was the only time I won that night, but its okay, I'm still sitting in a bar for God's sake, so there is plenty more liquor where that came from. All you really need in life some times is good friends, and alcohol.
Which brings me to Abomb's wonderful female friend who was with us. Bless her heart, she can drink with the best of them, and you will surely be entertained while in her presence. There may not be any person better in this world to get completely hammered with then this woman.
Anyway, I never realized just how interesting it would be to play under those circumstances. Especially with the people-watching I can also do in the meantime. My favorite was the creepy younger looking guy one table over, sitting by himself and keeping the same interesting smile on his face the entire night while playing................Priceless.........
Add that to the cheesy music the host played in the background, and small handful of people who were actually in this dive and what you get is three people at the same table all winning. Sometimes, Los Angeles just seems to have these precious little gems hidden everywhere, and if you ask me, its worth checking out and exploring..................Just don't expect good service or hot waitresses or bartenders.............................. BINGO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That guy was great. He gets up before the game starts, holds out the card and asks so I just fill in these boxes? Bingo and booze, you can't beat it.
