Why can't 'Hollywood Stars' just be who they are......Actors who work for a living...
(Nicolas Cage's Financial Problems Linked to His Lavish Spending Habits?)
This one is for my boy B WILLIAMS...........................
Sooooooo, over the years, it has become an unwritten rule that all Actors who are "at the top of their game" must show off their wealth and spend money like its going out of style. Why?
Living out here in Los Angeles, I randomly see people that we in society consider 'stars' of some kind. (My favorite is seeing porn star Marey Carey at LA Fitness on a regular basis). And you know what I realized after seeing these people? They are people just like us !!! Why do we put so much effort in this country to put all of these people on a pedestal and worship them like they are Gods?
And for the 'Hollywood Stars" themselves, why do they feel the need to spend money, starve themselves, live in a 10 bedroom house, and eat at "the Ivy" so they can be photographed?
When a real estate agent makes a big sale and earns a huge commission check, you know what people do when they see them? They say, "congratulations". However, when a person acts in a movie, and it makes like 100 million at the box office, we stalk them with cameras, look for a sex tape online, and make them buy a home in Hollywood with lots of security, gates and fancy paintings and cars to show off. Then we sit back, watch the 50 different nightly shows devoted to their lives, and wait to see which one gets drunk, arrested, dumped, and sent to rehab. God Bless America....Land of the free, home of the brave people who have to spend their lives making sure they put on all their makeup before getting their mail, in fear of paparazzi getting a nice quality picture of them with their hair not perfect and a close up of a zit or something.
After reading an article on Nicolas Cage, I started thinking about two movies.........First, I thought maybe he is like Richard Prior in Brewsters millions, and he is trying to spend these millions in order to get more millions. Then I thought about the movie Trading Places, and figured maybe its a case of someone wanting to make him broke, and make some bum currently living next to a tree at Santa Monica Beach a rich man.
Why can't actors in Hollywood just be successful men and women who do good work at their "job" and get rewarded for their efforts?
Thinking more about it, I think its more our fault then it is theirs. If we didn't jerk off every time we see one of them on the street trying to buy shoes, pump gas, or check their mail box, then maybe they would go about their lives just like all the other rich business men and women, who have just as much, or even more money then these stars, but don't have their own reality shows and episodes of E True Hollywood story.
Am I crazy?
