Where's Rambo when you need him?
So it seems like pretty soon we will now be sending more troops to Afghanistan to keep this wonderful war going on and on and on and on. This time it got me thinking..... Where is our 'Rambo'? In this country, we love showing films and shows about our great American Heroes, what they are trained to do, and all this exciting "made for TV" futuristic gadgets they have at their disposal to defeat the enemy. Then.....in the real world.....we see the same old hummers, same old guns, and the same young kids getting killed every day defending our country. And, when it comes to futuristic weapons, we have a cute little flying machine that takes pictures, and another one that can hopefully scope out the enemy around corners, but that's it.
You know, considering the fact that our enemy seems to be running around in sandals, wearing a turban, and shooting at our troops with 20 year old guns we apparently helped get them back in the day, this still doesn't make any sense to me. Remember the story back in the day about those two bank robbers wearing full body armor who spent what seemed like hours shooting at cops and not feeling any of the bullets from the cops as they pierced their armor, until finally some really good sharp shooters were able to get head shots. Why don't our own troops have this stuff on them?
And, considering the fact that our country and its military recruiters always seem to prey on the poor, uneducated and pretty much "bored out of their minds" country folk kids of the Midwest, shouldn't we have found many crazy mother f*ckers that we can train to be psycho killers and destroy everyone in their path or something? These wars have to eventually end one way or another.....Until then, I will continue to sit back and hope that some 'Rambo' and 'robocop' will be on the front lines killing all the bad guys until there are none left. Then maybe we can focus on the murderers, rapists, and abusers right here in the good old U S of A.....................
