What was that umpire thinking ?
Im sure many of you are not paying much attention to Detroit Tigers baseball these days, but did you happen to catch the missed call in the 9th inning, with two outs, when the guy pitching was throwing a perfect game up until the umpire called a guy safe at first when he was actually out !!!

Now, obviously, nobody is perfect (ummmm, except for the pitcher who actually pitched a perfect game) but how did this umpire make this kind of call.
There should absolutely be NO cheating in baseball, and you don't wanna give anybody an unfair advantage (like many of those dumb ass foul calls NBA refs give someone guarding a star player), but am I the only one not really seeing the big picture here.
First of all, the team out on the field was up 3-0.................with 2 outs in the inning................and............oh yeah.............the fucking guy was pitching a perfect game !!!
So why on Gods green earth did the umpire not even try to think about those things when it came to a close call..............on a play with a guy just going to 1st base !!!
Ok, Ok, maybe if the score was 1-0, and this guy was sliding into home plate to tie the game and it would have broken up a no hitter or something, then maybe, just maybe, its ok to call a close one and maybe use the old phrase 'tie goes to the runner'.
But we are talking about a perfect game, where there have been like 20 of them...........in over 100 years of baseball games......with up to 162 games a season...............20 perfect games !!!
Well, all the umpire can do is apologize...........Which is what he did.............and now everyone in the media says that there is nothing else he can do at this point.............
Fuck that ! I'm calling bullshit here !
Here is what we do. The league get's together, and decides to call it a perfect game. Which is what it was. Nothing else was affected. The team didn't end up scoring any runs anyway after this mess.
