Hopefully, I have more then just tomorrow to enjoy soccer... USA !!!

So, for those of you out there (most of you out there) in America who are not following along, they got this thing called the 'World Cup' soccer tournament, and the best players in our country are battling against the best teams in the world.  Now, I know what you're thinking...Who gives a shit ?  Well, I kinda do.
I remember growing up in New York in the 80s and watching the New York Cosmos compete in a soccer league and I loved soccer.  I played in soccer leagues, traveling teams, and running my little behind all around the field.....enjoying every minute of it.  But then, something happened.  Oh, yeah, I know, 1986 happened.  The Boston Celtics (with my hero Larry Bird) won a basketball title, the New York Mets won a world Series in baseball, and the New York Giants (with coke head Lawrence Taylor dominating) won a super bowl in football. After that, soccer became a forgotten memory.
After moving to Florida in the 90s, it was too damn hot to play soccer, so I stuck to indoor basketball, and some baseball (because you can hide in the shaded dugout when my team was at bat.
From what I hear, there has been a major Soccer league for over a decade now in the United States again, but for a guy who can't go a day without turning on ESPN, I never saw much about it on there, and I'm assuming nobody else has either, which is why nobody in our country cares.
You don't see games being promoted and televised throughout the country, you don't see hundreds of commercials involving the top players promoting some kind of shoe, shingard or ball. and you don't see any players being arrested for DUI's, gun possessions or abusing their girlfriend, so I guess they are not getting the right publicity that our country loves to get involved in to make the sport more popular.
But, I tell you what, I always get hyped up for some reason when the 'World Cup" comes around every four years.  I even watched a game at 4:30am our time from a jail cell ( i was working in the cell as an officer, not living in it by the way).
And, based on the tournament rules, our country has to win tomorrow's game to be able to move on to the next round.  So here's to hoping we shine tomorrow and pull out a big win.  Because I still have no fucking idea when the Major League Soccer season starts, plays, or ends, and I'm too lazy to scroll through the hundreds of cable channels looking for it.  USA !, USA !.
What do ya think a that ?
