Lofty goals don't always have to come with lofty expectations

I sometimes wonder if I truly am my own worst enemy.

The more I think about what's stopping me from making my lofty goals a reality, the more I notice that I seem to be the only real barrier.  What I mean is, I think I sometimes get caught up in the idea of wondering how my goal, even if similar to thousands, will still make me rich, while others stay in the 'rat race'.
One new thought which comes to mind is figuring that I, along with many in our society, can become too overwhelmed with the thought of what must first be accomplished, achieved, and performed in order to reach the highest of highs in our lives.  That's when I remembered that we must first believe in ourselves above all else.  And we must believe that nothing is impossible and nothing takes forever.
You know what separates me from the Gordon Gekko character in the movie Wall Street?  I think I can be great and earn a great living.  Gordon Gekko knows he is great, and expects to earn a great living because of it.
What do ya think a that?
