I never realized how much hard work goes into creating laughter in others

Now that i'm the stand-up comedy "game", I understand what it is to hustle.  I understand what it is to basically prepare a 5 minute set like your preparing a term paper in college.  I feel like the same amount of effort, thought and care goes into both.....(although, i wasn't much of a scholar, so what do i know)
Anyway, just thought I'd vent a little bit, and also show my continued/ongoing respect for those who do it for a living.
It truly is a lonely world to be in.  You find yourself preparing, writing, preparing, writing, and practicing in front of what often becomes less then 10 people.  And you now try and base your progress made in your writing and delivery by taking a census from these small amount of people.  Then later get in front of 50+ drunk and happy patrons of a club and hope to God that your material works.
My hats off again to all the Stand-up comics out there doing their thing.
