I know nobody votes in this country, but did you realize that a group of rich white people are touring the country trying to become the next President of the United States?

I'm always fascinated with politics. Not because I personally care anything about it, but because they always seem to attract a crowd. These guys seem to be surrounded by a swarm of screaming fans like they are rockstars....At least the rockstars provide a form of entertainment. And at least rockstars dont ask for donations after the show.

It always reminds me of high school. That time when my schools most popular kids asked for even more attention then they already get. In the end, one of them wins. They all remain popular. Nothing changes. Just like politics.

Why does everybody love to hate Tim Tebow?

        As a kid (maybe even sometimes as an adult, screw you tom brady) I remember always having some form of unprovoked anger towards a professional athlete. It pretty much always coincided with my childhood love of my own sports team, and hating whoever played against them. But I'm really confused by the whole Tim Tebow thing. Mostly because its 'mostly' adults who seem so frustrated by his success.
    Throughout sports history, there has always been that that man many would call a 'bust', or, a player who was drafted high, with great expectations, only to not apparently live up to those expectations.
    So, Tebow was drafted, i believe, number 24 overall. Really? How many players, specifically quarterbacks, have been drafted number 1 overall and not accomplish what Tim Tebow has? (hey, anybody heard from Jamarcus Russell lately?)
    And he's getting hit from everywhere. Even former professional athletes seem upset by his publicity and success. These include former hard nosed fullback (Merril Hoge) and the always self hyped, undersized, overweight NBA power forward (Charles Barkley).
    At first thought, I would assume these would be two guys who would specifically go out of their way to praise, respect, and support what Tebow is trying to do out there on the field.
    So, it is really just about religion? Every year, there's some 'prospect' in professional sports not playing well in a game. Sometimes they are criticized. Sometimes analysts seem to agree that the player is not ready. Mostly, the young player, if showing a positive effort to maintain good publicity (no DUI's, no beating of wives or girlfriends) gets credit for his accomplishments, and others to seem to wish him luck. But not Tim Tebow.
    I, for one, don't think he's that great of a quarterback either. But it sure is fun to watch the show. And that, I thought, what was the whole point. Sports, last I checked, was another form of entertainment. And Tebow, as I see it, is entertaining. So whats the problem.
    Is that problem that the guy talks about God too much? Really? Go watch a music awards show on TV one night. Count how many times a 'rapper' with a long criminal 'rap sheet' thanks God. You can make a drinking game out of it. Guarantee you will drunk off your ass before the first commercial break.
    In a country dominated by religion, all the way up to a point where we just had a recent president state that he spoke to God (thank God Bush is still not president by the way).
    But, apparently, its a big issue when some young dude from South Florida professes his love to a higher power. And its a big issue when a team, and its entire coaching staff, decide (without force from Tim Tebow), to run an offense where he barely passes at times.
    Maybe we should see Tim Tebow for what he is. He's a young man who makes a lot of money, doesn't apparently spend it on 'strippers', jewelry and bentley's, and is always quoted as saying he works hard at what he does.
    In conclusion, stop hating on Tim Tebow. Win or lose this weekend, he is still a professional athlete. An athlete who not only is lucky (and blessed) to do what he does for a living, but is also willing to admit so.

I don't know, maybe its me, but when did we need to see so much a$$ in the music industry? I remember the good ole days, when the a$$ was in the background (God bless rap video girls). Apparently now, you need big boobs, bikinis, tattoos and skinny jeans to be relevant in music.

And why does it keep happening in the music industry? (well, it also happens in the porn industry, but that makes more sense). I never realized that 'being original' meant that you have to dress like a 'real doll', wear feathers on your head, and rap while wearing skinny jeans hanging down your butt (i mean, really Lil Wayne?, skinny jeans, and still they don't cover your a$$?

Anyway, wasn't Rihanna that poor girl who was beaten by some dude? (oh, yeah, a dude who is still famous by the way).

I guess I watch too much TV, because I just assumed that she would have some kind of made-for-tv moment of epiphany where she decides to pull a Tina Turner. You know, SING your a$$ off... (ok, she showed off some great legs) and make sure everyone realizes who you are, and always remembers you for your TALENT.

Louis C.K. tops $1 million in sales of $5 comedy special

That was the headline I saw in an article today (a CNN article of all things).

Its been a rough year for comedians this year. Seems like way too many have passed away, but maybe this is a way to end things on a good note.

Funny how some things seems so simple, but don't always work out so easily for everyone. It seems like a dilemma I have always thought about over the years while contemplating various business ideas. Its the idea of true supply vs. demand.

Especially in the era of the internet, you think more would have this new type of business model. The model of 'low overhead, low cost' for your product. And why not? Think about it. If you were a really great entertainer (Louis C.K. is a brilliant comedian), and you were given two options: 1) pay agents, promoters, managers, retailers, and distributers money to sell your product (CD, DVD, whatever) for $15 each at stores throughout the country, or 2) have customers purchase, and have immediate access to, your product directly, online, for only $5?

In this day and age of Reality T.V., where everyone is looking for their 15 minutes of fame, we forgot what it is to succeed through trial and error. Succeed through hard work, and succeed through 'self' promotion.

You don't always need a staff of 1000 to make you wealthy. What you need is to be talented. What you need is to believe in yourself. And what you need is a simple plan for success.... oh, and being as talented as Louis C.K. doesn't hurt either.

So when's the last time you've been to the wonderful land of filth? I mean, honestly, is there anything more sleazy, yet so fascinating, then an 'adult store' place of business.

I'm glad to see that, in an age where there seems to be no separation of church and state, the glorious building of smut remains a fixture in our society. Now they are not exactly on every corner like a starbucks, but I think there are enough to go around.

One of the things that fascinates me about these stores, are the names themselves. No, I'm not talking about the cute 'pun on words' that a select few have, but the overall concept being shown to the public. For instance, who started the term 'adult movies', and 'adult books'. As a kid, when I thought of these two terms, I thought of Nightmare on Elm Street and something with 'grown-up words' in it. But there I was, 1:00 am on wednesday night, stopping over at the old store of stores. Oh, and by the way, I recommend going on such a time, on such a weeknight, to get the full perverted experience. I mean, if your gonna do it, do it right.

Let me say this first off, if there was a legit customer service survey to be filled out, I believe that this 'business', and its employees, would get some of the highest satisfaction ratings of all time. For some reason, every employee i've encountered in one of these wonderful establishments has been as friendly as friendly can be.

Now I come to my second thought, which is that, if you can, go with a significant other. (Yeah, I know what you are thinking, if you have the 'other', then there is no need to be there for...well...yourself). But times have changed my good people. Like most businesses and industries, they have adapted to the times. It has now come to be very hip, trendy, and fashionable to even go 'window-shopping' at such fine establishments for one's own entertainment. However, let's get back to the filth shall we. On this night, I went with my wife, and gave her the gift of satisfying knowledge regarding the myth, urban legend, and secrecy that is the "back room". This is where it get's fun.

First of all, prior to arrival for this 'ride', you must first approach the counter of the shop, and find the courage to ask about the details of entering such a dwelling. Then, upon 'paying your admittance fee', you can now enter what this particular store, called the "Arcade". Wait....what?.....Arcade?.......thats right ladies and gentlemen, its called the Arcade room. Funny, I don't recall seeing any games playing....(well, maybe I did).

Now enter creepiness. No.....literally......you enter creepiness at this point. It was like Night of the Living Dead in this room. I almost felt like I was in the middle of a Michael Jackson thriller video, only there was little to no sound, and no dancing.

It was then time to, shall we say, review the tv shows/movies showing for the evening. Once the movies/channels were reviewed and discussed, a plan of action was set in motion, and my wife and I, as two respectful adults, proceeded to do what we felt was most appropriate at the time, and that was to walk as fast as possible to the nearest booth.

After maneuvering through what seemed like an endless amount of wandering-aimlessly- looking-gentlemen, we scurried on over to the booth farthest in the back and locked the door. You know, I gotta admit, this might have been one of the cleanest looking places (of this kind) I have ever seen. So, well, let's start channel surfing, shall we?

Apparently, we chose one that seemed to be having some technical difficulties, and so there was not sound. ( I know what you are thinking now. Who needs sound?). Well, I feel it adds to the experience. Anyway, there we were, enjoying our viewing. Well, I was kind of enjoying the viewing. My wife, on the other hand, was still caught up in the whole realization of where she was, and seemed to lose track of what was going on for a bit. But she later snapped out of it, just long enough to notice that her jacket seemed to be catching on something behind her, on the wall where she was sitting. She then got up, moved over closer to me, and looked towards the wall where she was. And that is when we saw the 'glory hole'. You know, there's a word for this moment. Yeah, you guessed it, its PRICELESS.

Well, let's just say that, after we let it all sink in, (and after I made numerous bad jokes about wondering how long before something pokes through), we decided to try another booth in this arcade.So we found another booth. One without any, uh, cracks in the foundation around us. And now is when we got to fully experience the world of porn.

Now, here is where, once again, its not good for someone to be with a comedian. My wife was getting over a bad sickness, which is causing her to now begin coughing. I swear, on all that his holy (how bout that expression in this blog), every time she would cough, I would hear someone else, in the distance, cough. Now, I don't know about you, but here is what I was thinking. Hmmmm, is the cough some kind of signal to the other patrons, that you would like some.......company....... Oh, did I mention that I said this out loud to my wife........ Oh, and did I mention that the booth we were in, were a lot like bathroom stalls, in that the walls don't touch the ground, and people could easily put their feet and hands through.

And so it was, we spent the next 20 minutes watching random 'adult tv' on a small screen. (Cough).......(cough)...........shadows of feet moving back and forth, back and forth, like some kind of creepy version of every day foot traffic in a busy city, on and on, until alas our time was up. And off we went back into reality.

Now, If I could interview anyone in the 'Arcade room' that night, it would definitely be the last guy I saw in that room. As soon as my wife and I exited the booth, some interesting looking man immediately walked, at an extremely fast moving pace, directly at us, and seemed to hurry himself right into the booth we just came out of.

This got me thinking. Hmmmmmm, he saw a woman walk out first. Then he saw a guy walk out smiling ( I admit, that whole experience gave me a creepy grin )......... Hey, I know, that guy probably thought my wife was, uh, shall we say, working that night. Oh how I crack myself up sometimes. I enjoyed putting that thought into my wife's head on the ride home.

The Giants beat the Patriots...and all is right with the world.

I still can't figure out why I still take the games so seriously, but there I was, covered head to toe (literally) with Giants apparel, watching my beloved team upset the mighty Patriots once again.

I guess maybe its says something about my life (specifically work) that this win makes me happy, but oh well, I'll take the joy for at least one night.

There was just nothing better then watching Eli Manning (and his goofy looking self) lead the team down the field. And just like that, the game was over. The Giants had won. And I found myself dancing and swinging on the stripper pole in my apartment (oh yeah, did I mention I have a stripper pole in my living room)?

Every Sunday feels like 1986 to me, watching my team make me happy (and stressed) for 3+hours. All thats missing (besides the gain of about 150+lbs and short shorts) is the innocence of a child who had no responsibilities. Awwwww, no responsibilities. Those were the days.

Well, I guess there's one good thing about being an adult........ VEGAS !!!!!!!!!! Looks like Mr. Adult will be putting his money where his 'love of the Giants' is next week. Look out 49ers.

As a child, I remember carrying around a “tackle box”. However, instead of keeping fishing gear inside of it, I had money in it. I did not care if was a dollar or a coin, a 20 or a penny. My money was my money. And I was saving it. What was I saving it for? Honestly, I have no idea. All I knew was that I wanted to have some of it around. I guess I kind of felt like I was meant to have it. Not that I was special. Not that I was better then anyone else. I just always felt as though I was meant to have some form of wealth.

Now, I know, many people feel, wish and desire the same things out of life. And I believe that everyone deserves success. However, I understand now more then ever how reality kicks in so strongly. I understand what ‘life’ does to people. I understand how the almighty dollar causes such havoc on peoples lives. Yet, here I remain, an adult with the same motivations, expectations, and dreams of having what seems to be so easy, yet so hard to get.

So what makes me so different then anyone else. Well, nothing I guess. Accept maybe that I have gained enough knowledge to understand that there is nothing worse then wasted talent.

I don’t know what’s harder, using one’s talent to succeed, or simply identifying one’s talent to begin with. What makes someone so ‘talented’? Is that talent meant to make someone money? Does one’s talent have to even be shared with others?

Many writers see a blank page as their worst nightmare. I see it as a challenge. A challenge to myself to be creative. Sometimes success comes out of fear. Sometimes success comes out of a desire to succeed.

I see writing as I see stand-up comedy. I see stand-up comedy as I see life. I see life as something that on many levels must always be improvised. We are not born with a script.

Every morning, I open my eyes, and I take for granted the fact that I have been granted another day. I do my best to earn the almighty dollar, I enjoy my favorite foods, I enjoy every moment spent with my beautiful wife, but every night I lay in bed thinking about the ‘challenge’. I think about the challenge that comes with the risk of change.

If there is anything scarier then a blank page, it is change. What do we expect of change? What do we expect of ourselves during change?

Maybe the real key to success is acceptance.

Seems like every week there is another 'star' born in this country. As they shoot to fame, you hear many stories of their humble beginnings, their troubled youth, and their 'lucky breaks'.

Maybe what you don't know is the fact that you yourself don't have to emulate any of these people to make your own success.

I feel like many of us, me included, appear to sit back and watch others succeed, and wonder why we haven't gotten all the breaks.

Maybe its time we learn the concept of acceptance. Accept your current status in life. Accept your down-and-outs, brokeness and uncertainty. Embrace what you have, because at least you have it.

Then put all your focus on the future. Because success is not created overnight. Success is not something you are always given after being 'discovered' at 15 years old on youtube. Success is something you work for. And if you spend the next 20 years working towards it, at least you can say you worked towards something. I'm just sayin.

No, this is not another shameful promotion of the next coming episode of 'hoarders'. This is more my own perception of the 'reality' being brought upon us by the powers-that-be in this country. Its my humble take on a world full of wealth, prestige and assets. Assets held by so few, and wanted by so many.

And as another election year comes upon us, we begin to hear that similar argument for the ages...Should we share the wealth, or hand it to those select few, because some feel they would better know what to do with it?

Its a strange form of the term, "better of two evils"? Does it simply break down this way...Is it better to give 100 'poor' people $1 each, to do as they wish with it, or give 1 'rich' person $100, and allow him the opportunity (and power) to utilize his apparent skills and knowledge to invest that money, make it grow, and then give back a portion of that money to those other 99?

Well, let's look at it on this level. Is it better to give 100 men/women a $50K loan, to open up a small business, which would each employ 5 people, or give one 'corporation' $5 million, and allow them to employ hundreds?

I feel like this is where we continue to be in this country, and this is my perception of what is going on politically in this country, where it seems as though our President, the 'democrat/small business', is fighting against the republicans/big corporation.

So, which makes more sense? Well, to me, its a losing battle either way. Hear me out here. Think about it. One president, to appease the masses, signs a bill which gives everyone a $600 'tax refund'.

We, the masses, then run out to the local best buy, walmart, or apple store, and probably end up spending about $750..............oops. now what? Oh, thats right, we are now $150 in the hole, most likely stuck on our credit card with a 20% interest rate, just waiting to become about $1000 in credit card balances by end of the year.

So, apparently, because we never seem to learn our lesson, it then becomes the government/big business/corporation to inform us that they have a better way. And all they need, is for everyone to give up that $600 check, and instead allow them ongoing years of huge tax breaks, all year around, and give them the 'power' to control the market, the economy, and most importantly, the money. Why do I feel like we are screwed either way?

Like I said, one man's trash is another man's apartment. One rich man's million dollar company, is another poor man's minimum wage job as the employee. I think we all deserve better.

Yeah, I understand that, if you teach a man to fish, he will eat forever. However, if he is paying the person who owns the lake every day to fish their, then he is still going broke in order to eat.

Reflecting on life, 10 years later.

September 10th, 2001........A night to remember...A great night......filled with friends....spent in my 'single-family home' in south florida, enjoying Monday Night Football.

September 11th, 2001.......Woke up earlier then usual (used to work 4-midnight in law enforcement) and saw everything change.

September 11, 2011.....I sit.....in my 'single-bedroom apartment' in southern california, wondering where the decade went.

Things change...people change...the country has changed...I have changed.

Life seems so different to me now. I wonder about what could have been. What if my family never moved out of New York when I was 12? I think about my childhood dreams, filled with high self expectations, riches, success, or simply a life of serving the community that may have led me to the NYPD, or maybe even the FDNY. After all, it was a different way of life in my childhood in New York. Seems like a logical step to take...to be a family man.....to be a provider...to make a difference.

But life always has something else in store for you. And so......10 years ago today......I was nowhere near the twin towers. I found myself about 1200 miles away....still wearing a uniform....but with a different perspective on everything.

What have we all learned since that day? Did we strengthen? Did we succeed? Did we rebuild? What does that even mean......rebuild? What constitutes a true rebuilding?

Its now 2011, and i personally have gone from home ownership to an apartment in the valley (in Los Angeles). How did I even get here? How did any of us end up where we are today? Was it by chance? Was it God's will? Was it meant to be?

All I know is this.....My success, failures, accomplishments, and defeats will never compare to the bravery, heroism, and sacrifice that found its way into the big apple 10 years ago.

We will always be a country, community, and people of change. And as we come upon another election year, filled with arguments, complaints, and politician bashing, I hope we all come to realize what really matters. What matters, is what occurred on this day 10 years ago. What matters is who HELPED who, who LOOKED after who, and who DIED for US......a city of people.....a state....a country of individuals......all hoping we have another 10 years to make all our dreams come true......and all hoping that the sacrifices of others will never be forgotten.

Retarded TV show canceled for 'Clearly Inappropriate' Segment Mocking Asian Students At USC

So I saw this article and video on AOL NEWS regarding some morons taping a show on USC campus, and apparently interviewed a bunch of students (who were all apparently Asian) and asking them questions about their thoughts on the football team, and the joining of other schools to the same conference that USC football team plays in.

In the video, it basically shows a group of 'Asian' students who could care less about 2 schools (Colorado and Utah) now playing football in the same conference as their school they attend.

Now, for me, its not about the racism (although you could clearly see in the video what was going on in the heads of the dopes producing this show).

For me, it actually speaks to the problem our country continues to have in regards to what our motivations, thoughts, and priorities truly are about.

We just got finished arguing over the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA having to make an important speech, 'involving our entire country' at a specific time on TV that wont disturb the all important NFL football game that night.

Now what are we apparently doing? We are apparently 'poking fun' at a group of STUDENTS who are (GOD FORBID) more focused on their education then focused on what kind of year their football team is going to have.

So, in my humble opinion, rather then see the video as a poor depiction of Asian people, I see it as a strength. A strength of a group of college kids, whatever race, background or religion, who are attending one of the top Universities in Southern California, and who will someday be running one of the companies that some of these moron TV people will be working for some day soon.

So, am I the only one who kind of finds it interesting that, throughout the whole ridiculous drama of our President struggling to have to make speech at same time of an NFL pregame show this coming week, it was never considered that maybe he should make his speech on 'labor day'?

Maybe some small group of political morons.....i mean thinkers..... sat in a room, and decided that maybe it would be too ironic, or maybe even condescending in some way, to make a big speech about the job market on 'labor day', while many watching at home remain unemployed.

Well for me, speaking as a man lucky enough ( I guess ) to have a job, I for one am probably in the same boat as many working Americans. Fellow Americans who are happy to be able to pay off their bills each month, but remain challenged in their owner inner quest to maintain sanity while performing professional tasks they wished they weren't doing.

And so comes the wonderful idea/concept of 'labor day', the holiday that it has become. And apparently, we have made such a holiday a yearly event of sorts. We have turned this 'holiday' into a day filled with bar-b-q, beer, and thoughts of how quickly the pending 4 day work week could possibly fly by if we're lucky.

Maybe this day should have been filled with the idea and concept of 'change'. Maybe this day should have been filled with information, technology, and knowledge that would lead to bigger and better things for our country as a whole........Or maybe I should just stick to the beer, wings, and hope of a short work week (while I still have a job).

Steve Jobs Resigns as CEO of Apple...who will be the next 'innovator'?

So the big news of the day is about the 'end of an era' of sorts in the field of technology and one of its leaders. It got me thinking, who's next? Who will be the next innovator? In this country, it seems the norm for the 'masses' to get together and help anoint/elect/choose the next politician, leader, and celebrity star, but we never seem to take the time to become that 'leader' instead.

Recently, I finally got around to watching the movie 'social network', and, without reviewing the plot, etc. blah blah blah, what I saw was the making of new 'self-made' billionaire, with a lot of help from about 750 million people around the world (including myself), who helped make him that way by flocking to his creation.

I'm all for people like Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg. I absolutely support what they have accomplished, and I admire them for their achievements. And, really, I just wish there were more like them in the world, 'creating' rather then 'maintaining', 'developing' rather then 'using', and 'deciding', not 'accepting'.

Life, as we know it, has always seemed to be controlled by the 'decision-makers'. Even in reality TV, you see the ones who make the decisions, and the ones who tag along for the ride and hope to stay around long enough to get their 15 minutes of fame.

When it comes to the education system in America, certain people have been saying it for years. We need to start teaching students about money management, leadership, and finances. Instead, we tend to just teach our kids how to read and write, give them some courses on Math, Science, English and Math, and offer electives which many times consist of sports, cooking, and (in the 'urban cities') trade school type programs in auto mechanics, nursing and beauty.

Now, thats fine if students all just dream of fixing cars, taking peoples blood, and cutting hair, but what happens when they graduate? Who has taught them how to pay bills, make business decisions, and balance a god damn check book? Who? Their parents? Well, what if their parents are mechanics, nurses and barbers?

Im not saying there is anything wrong with these professions. What Im saying is, who is encouraging these kids to be body shop owners, Dr.'s and hair salon owners? Oh, I know, their parents (well, hopefully they are. Many parents are either not around, or just encourage their kids to stay out of prison).

Which brings me back to the original point. Because so many children out there are struggling financially in single-parent, unemployed, low-income homes, the one huge benefit we are all supposed to have in this country is our FREE education system. This 'system' is supposed to create equality, and allow for anyone in that particular community, rich or poor, to receive the same education, academics, and opportunities to succeed.

But, of course, its always about the money. Its why certain schools have actual pools in it, which leads to future olympians, or has fancy uniforms, tennis teams, and amazing after-school programs......while 'the other schools' look like something out of the movie 'Lean on Me'.

    Well, here we go again. It reminds me a lot of tax season. Its that time of year again when we, as a people, gather in droves, and all collectively 'bend over' and take it in the ass from the big bad government.
    Only in this case, its that time of year when a small group of rich people travel around the country, mostly in towns they will never see again in their lives, and convince complete strangers to put them in charge of the "free world".
    During this time of year, I usually think of the comedic legend George Carlin, who basically stated that he would rather be home jerking off then go out and vote for any of these dopes.
    Yet, here we are. Time for one side to state how horrible the current side is doing, and talk about how their side will do much better. Really? Hmmmmmm, where have we heard that before? Oh, that's right, during the last election year!!!! How is that 'change' thing working out?
    But, I think, as a country, we seem to now believe that its possibly a given that one side will somehow always get 8 years instead of just 4. ( I say 'side', because if you honestly believe that one person is actually running this country, you should be ashamed of yourself )
    Anyway, let me and my A.D.D. mind try and get back to the original point here. Have you noticed who is running now, and who is apparently doing 'wonderful' in the so-called 'polls'? Well, how about I sum it up in one sentence. There's another dopey woman who knows nothing about the country and its history, and there's another 'C' student out of Texas. LOL...Really.....that's the best the Republicans can come up with here?
    So here is my humble (and possibly retarded opinion). Maybe the Republicans are just enjoying the fact that the Democrats are doing a horrible job of trying to undo the horrible job that Republicans (thanks Bush) did before them. And maybe they feel as though they may be better off letting everything 'bottom' out for another 4 years, and come out like......well......the Democrats in 2008, with a 'fresh face' who brings promise of......yeah, you guessed it, CHANGE !!!!!!!
    So here's to another 4 years of the Democrats supposedly trying their best, and Republicans supposedly having all the answers, and waiting for its turn again.   Great job everybody, don't forget to go out and vote................I, myself, will be home jerking off........

    As a husband, I am surely getting used to being blamed for everything, because that's what happens when your married. However, I think, sometimes, us men should take a stand.....a stand against blame for porn.....lets start a revolution......a protest.........Larry Flint can be our Al Sharpton.
    Let a man be one with his porn. Especially a man who keeps his porn to himself, in his own laptop where it belongs.

Life along the Vegas strip.......is an interesting life.

       Have you ever found yourself walking along the Vegas strip at 4am? Probably not the best idea. I recently had my first experience.
Usually, I would find myself in Las Vegas on some random weekend, holiday, or March Madness (weeks of sitting in a sports book for like 10 hours straight staring at college basketball). Anyway, on this occasion, I found myself needing to find a way to my hotel from a casino, after losing money at the poker tables.
During my 'wandering' along the strip, and during my frustration of losing leading to me losing sense of direction, I found myself basically taking a tour of different casinos on both sides of the street. And, uh, let me tell you something....Its a whole new version of a "zombie land" movie going on.
    Now, don't get me wrong, I have spent the last 4 years living in Los Angeles, and I've seen a little bit of what goes on in the downtown area, but this had a different feel to it.
    One 'experience', was watching as one 'sober' dude works to convince his 'drunk' friend to 'walk away' from the hooker. You see, in Vegas, hookers are like those horny guys at your local nightclub, waiting outside in the parking lot until the club gets out, hoping to hit on some random drunk chick. Only, in this case, the horndog in waiting is expecting cash to bang you.
    So, as the 'sober buddy' did his job, I quickly hurried out of there and headed across the bridge from New York New York to MGM. And it was along this bridge that I witnessed another interesting sight. Started out nice enough. A young teenager playing his guitar, as a group of other teens sat in a circle. But, of course, this is Vegas....at 4am....on a weeknight......and those little boys and girls were not passing around candy. They were passing around a 'crack-pipe'. Viva Las Vegas.
    Can you get a 'contact high' walking through crack/meth smoke?
    I could understand the hookers inside of 7-11 and mcdonalds......because hoes gotta eat.......but the kids and their pipes did kinda throw me for a loop...............whats this world coming to?

As if it wasn't hard enough to watch hundreds of millionaire's play 'games' on ESPN television every day, now is that time of year again when we watch thousands of them sit in one room in Las Vegas and gamble in one day with what many probably take about 6months to earn in salary.
    I'm not gonna lie, I wish I was one of those high priced bastards who could throw around that kind of money. And I guess the fact that, technically, I could afford to do it (credit card of course, not cash) makes me feel even worse.
    At least, when it comes to sports, I always knew I could never compete on that level, and earn the riches that go with it....(although, I did have one heck of a 3-point shot in my early pre-teens.)
    But now comes this new "sport" thats been sweeping the nation ever since a chubby accountant made some history in 2003 by winning millions in about one week and a half of poker action.
    Despite all the economic woes, despite all the reported dips in economic growth, loss of jobs, and even the loss of a long time Casino/Hotel in Las Vegas, it just doesn't seem to stop many people, from all around the world, from gathering in one place. All in one Hotel/Casino (that's not even in the top 5 as far as best Casino's on the strip)
    It's like what what my dad always says whenever he drives to the local casino to stare at pretty lights on slot machines, "Jesus, you would think there wasn't a recession going on here".
    I guess you can just chalk it up to the saying, "When in Debt......Gamble to get out of it" (Is that a saying? well it is now.

Guess who attended his first drag queen showwwwwww? (pretend i'm yelling in a loud feminine voice)
Blonde's do have more fun (especially when its a wig worn by a dude).

Things I learned on this night of drag queen madness:

I learned that life can be a rainbow party even outside of West Hollywood.
I learned that gay people are worse with being on time then black people.
I learned that there honestly is not much difference between a drag queen show and a stand-up comedy show.

    I have to admit, things were a bit awkward for me for the first hour or so at this place. I guess it had something to do with the fact that there was a constant running loop of videos on the TV of guys with their shirts off, and pictures of famous dudes flashing on the screen one after the other.

    But i will tell you what, there is just nothing like watching 'lady-boys' shake their money makers in tight skirts and dresses while lip synching. Oh, and let's not forget the cursing, loud mouth and sarcastic commentary and constant 'ball busting' (pun intended) going on between the drag queens to each other and the audience.

    All in all I guess it was worth the trip. Besides, my wife had a great time, and I can always use that as an excuse to keep attending lesbian clubs.

   Please, someone else admit that they watched this train wreck at midnight at a local LA theater near you.
    I can't really describe in words what i experienced at a theater recently in West Hollywood watching this...(and no, the crazy experience in west hollywood had nothing to do with guys in booty shorts or women more manly then me)
    It was all about this Movie.....I dont know if I can really call it a movie. How about I just refer to it as an attraction. Yeah, thats make more sense.
    So, anyway, I was at this amusement Park in West Hollywood, and went on a ride..........A ride that is......The Room.
    Where do I start? Ok, how about this. The Title? Even the fuckin title made no sense. They were better off calling the movie "Huh?"
    But, honestly, its not about the movie. In fact, I would pay money to anyone reading this article to go out, try and find this damn thing somewhere on a DVD, and watch it......by yourself......and watch the entire movie from start to finish....
    Luckily, I went the other route. I went the route of the "cult following" movie-goer experience. Remember people, safety in numbers... (especially when it comes to watching this movie)
    Oh, and also, I recommend watching it with LA/Hollywood Hipsters (or whatever the fuck LA type are called these days)
    Honestly, I can say that I literally watched/saw the attraction on stage, but most of my listening/hearing was of the audience commentary...throughout the entire movie.......nonstop.... (insert black people joke here)
    And its more then just talking (or in this case, 100+ people yelling at the top of their lungs). Its about the acting. Nooooooo, people acting..............in Hollywood...........wow...........i'm shocked...........
    Well, thats what went on. And, to be serious for a moment, I have to admit that I couldn't have done it without them. Plus, I got to throw plastic spoons into the air and watch them hit people throughout the theater (I know that made no sense, but google the damn movie and you'll find out about the damn spoons)
    Anyway, I guess the point I am trying to make (if i'm trying to even make one) is that people in the industry today should stop making shitty remakes, overpay actors, and put that shit on 3D to squeeze out every last dollar the American consumer.
    They are better off 'owning' their shitty movie. They are better off accepting the fact that they put our crap, just to make crap, and just to stay in the news. And when their shit and crap is out there..........embrace it........take pride in it.........and have fun with it..................because, in the end, its supposed to be entertainment anyway.........Entertainment doesn't have to be good, intellectual, thought provoking and inspiring..........it just has to be entertaining........................(oh, and it helps to have those damn cult following weirdos)
